events of class 820!!!!

class 820 has gone trough some many stuff since the last blog for example class 820 finally did the show of the dancing ballroom and it was the best thing that ever hap pend to this class every body did a fantastic job. of course some of the students did some individual dances like Kenny and Cynthia did the foxtrot, malik and tyra did the tango and Henry and myself (maria) did the salsa. also class 820 did the competition but unfortunately class 820 came in 3rd place. also class 820 there science test (state test) which was on April 30 and may 5. some days or weeks later after they took the test class 820 changed back to groups tables HOORAY!!!! now the class is sitting in groups and every body likes it including me. well thats all that has happend to class 820 since the last blog i will write some other time to tell you more.... with the class 20 LOVE.... maria

820 will ROCK the Math State Exam tomorrow!

Just a quick note to let you know that we are really excited for the Math State Exam tomorrow and Wednesday and you should be too! You have all put in such an amazing amount of work this entire year and it is really going to pay off tomorrow! Don't be nervous or worried because you CAN do this. The test will be hard, but there will not be any surprises and you can do it all!

hey class 820 glad to be back in school seeing your friends,teachers,principals,etc well maybe not all of us are happy because the state e.l.a test is this month that means that alot of people would be nervous thinking that they maybe will fail but class 820 is a smart class and of course they are going to pass.well alot of people Had alot of fun in the vacation they got to spend Christmas and had a terrific new year and maybe some of the kids were bored because they wanted to spend Christmas and new year with they're friends but i know that i had alot of F-U-N... got alot of presents went out to party's and spending time with the family telling stories about the babies years and when they were young.well that is all see you next time in the blogging corner!!!! :]

Hi, my name is Ramata. I am an immigrant living in NYC. Right now there is a war going on because white people are being prejudice to colored people. So now we do have an invention called 'subway' and we are all supposed to be able to sit anywhere but if someone don't give you a look someone else is stepping on your shoe. There's always a fight brought up. Life is hard. You don't get what you want , and especially being in the color group. It's not fair.

When I came from Phillidelphia to New York I looked for a job. When I found one, I started looking around and communicating with people. THere was a lot of different cultures in my job. I was surprised at all the new inventions that came out. THen the workers started telling me about the boss and how he prejudiced all of the invetions that came out.

Being an immigrant in the year 1910 was very frustrating because us women doesn't have the right to vote or stand up for our rights. Now all that we can do is just work in factories and use inventions. But the only people is that there are no communications, I can't even call or send messages to my family. In my country I used to be a clothes designer, but now that I'm here in New York City I had to give it all up to work in a factory.

I spent years and years trying to avoid the prejudice. We tried to celebrate our culture to make us cheer up, we communicate with people to tell them how we are living. People treat us like we are no people. We don't deserve what they are doing to us. We came here to get jobs and work so that we could feed our families back home.

Our neighborhood is filled with other people from my country and other countries. Our buildings are slums and unsafe. We have to use our pots and buckets to stop the raindrops from coming. The people in this country treat us differently. We get paid less. Today I went to the factory and injured my arm. My boss wouldn't let me have a few days off from work from my injuries. People started to form a union so that we can work safely.

First Dance Lesson!

Hi 820,


Well, technically it was our second, because the field trip to the studio counted as the first! We just wanted to tell you all how proud we were of you today. You did a truly amazing job and followed directions really well. I can already tell we are going to grow a lot as a class through this program. Those of you who were feeling uncomfortable participating today, please give it a try on Friday. I promise you'll have fun!

Remember, our next dance class is on Friday at 8:00...you need to get to school on time!

Hey Class-

Just wanted to throw up the flow of the week for you. Even if you've been sent to the SAVE room for the next few days, you'll still be expected to keep up with the tests we're taking in class.

Here's the list:

trip to dancing ballroom!!!!!!!!!

hi my name is maria and I'm going to Tell you about the trip. the trip on Friday was fun because we all went to a dancing studio and we got to meet two dance teachers one was called ms.Maritza {and by the way she was pregnant}and Mr.Enrico and they both were funny and they really know there moves hahaha! some of the boys were well dressed and some weren't also since there weren't alot of girls in the trip some of the boys were dancing with an imaginary partner but the good thing is that ms.skrzypchack and ms.Miranda and ms.jelink were dancing to :] and let me say from my point of view pretty much everybody was having a great time. for lunch we ate a turkey sandwich juice and a chip. then we did a little dance off [which was really fun] and then we left. after we left the dance studio we whent to see the big tree wich was really sweet and then we went home. thats all that happend in the trip and I can't wait for our very first lesson which is this wensday. well bye.

FLIPPED/DANCING BALLLROOM

Hello and I'm back yes is me maria today is December,11,2008 and yes that means that Christmas is coming and that also means that the class has one day left to do the DANCING BALLROOM PROGRAM!!! but this isn't why we have this segment. this segment is about class 820 reading a book called FLIPPED and this book is about a girl named Julianna baker that falls in love with her neighbor and doesn't realize that he doesn't like her, soon Julianna starts doing every thing in her power to get close to him.now you may be thinking if the book is all about one girl why is the book called flipped well the book is not all about one girl is about two people the other person is the boy named Bryce he really HATES Julianna but he doesn't really know that he is soon going to fall for her in this book there is alot of love,friendship,backstabbing,and truth for me this book is the best but to bad that we just finished the book today trustme this book is awesome well that's all i could say see you when i have another important stuff to tell you and remember class 820 have only one more day left for the grand coming of Dancing ballroom program!!! bye talk to you some day!!!

The Phantom Of The Opera

The Phantom Of The Opera was a good show because it had a man that had a white mystery mask on his right face and nobody knew who they were.i think that the place was very fun and i think that who ever goes there could probably have a very bright excited. there were a lot of bright lights every where.there was a lot of music and opera singers that were professionally trained to sing like that. it took like 4 hours and 2 sessions because the singers have to take a couple of minutes to rest.But i think that it was a good show and hope to go there again.
The people who went was: Karina C. Shuba and Bina M. and 2 others fellow students from the other 8 Th grades.
I think that they went people because maybe they did a great job or probably had a high grade in most of the classes. Only 6 8 Th graders got to go on the trip.

This morning watched MAD HOT BALLROOM its was really fun then we did a work sheet with the book flipped untill the en of 2nd period thank you

Inspiration for the Quiz tomorrow!

Hi class-

We know a lot of you are feeling nervous about the Math quiz we are going to have tomorrow, and that is understandable, this is hard stuff! We want to remind you how well you are doing though. The class average in Math right now is an 82%! On the last quiz, 19 out of 20 students received Mastery on standard 8.N.2!

This is awesome news. You really are learning. For a lot of you, this type of success might be something new, something you haven't experienced in a few years. You should be really proud of the hard work you have put in so far, but remember, you cannot give up just because things start to get a little harder!

8th grade Math is hard, and it will continue to get harder - but giving up is not an option. You need to continue to show us the commitment we saw from you so far this year.
